Religious Education is taught throughout the school and focuses on teaching children to understand the common elements of Christianity and the basic principles of five other world faiths.
These faiths include Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, Sikhism and Buddhism. We teach a wide range of concepts, skills and attitudes which encourage children to ask searching questions and to develop open minds. Full use is made of our school library, interactive whiteboards, internet and DVDS to help bring alive the many feasts and festivals and lives and works of various people who have been inspired by their faith.
We encourage the children to gain self-understanding, to explore relationships with others and to consider the place of the individual within the local community and the wider world. We make our children aware of social and moral aspects of life, the need for tolerance and compassion and the fact that privileges and responsibilities go together.
