In Science a range of topics in Biology, Chemistry and Physics are covered in each year group.

As pupils progress up through the school those topics are developed in increasing detail.

Science is taught in a structured, yet creative atmosphere where pupils can experiment; solving problems, engaging in scientific enquiry and using reasoning skills to discover the physical world in which they live. As part of our continuing commitment to education, a well resourced, hi-tech science lab has been built which will further enhance the opportunity for children to discover and interact with the world around them.

Over the span of their primary school education pupils will have developed a good understanding of the following concepts:

  • Asking and answering scientific questions
  • Planning and carrying out scientific investigations
  • Understanding the life processes of living things, materials and their properties, the physical processes of electricity, light, sound and forces along with the nature of the solar system.
